Any predictions on what house prices will do over the next 12 months?

I vote up!
Let me break even at least.
I have modest economic goals.

Re: house prices
First home owner boost cuts out - less buyers, unless they are panicked trying to get in ahead of interest rate rises. Interest rate rises- less buyers, lower prices.

First home owner boost cuts out end of September
Re: house prices
The economy is recovering and the big stimulus items, the school and roads/railways/ports, are still supporting that. Whatever drop may occur will be quickly absorbed by the spring buying spree.
BTW, NEVER buy a house in spring or summer. Visit the house when the weather is at its dirtiest and you see the house at its worst and you can check for leaky roofs, bad drainage etc.

Over here we went through the roof in the last six years then it stopped.
WIth China picking up our housing market might as well, (bad for renters and first time buyers) as they still have not got an handle on new supply.

My sister ,who lives in Pt Hedland WA, bought a very modest house before the boom for a relatively modest sum, .. even now its still worth 1/2 million. Even tho prices are going down in some parts of WA they can still command ridiculous sums .JW Frogen wrote:Over here we went through the roof in the last six years then it stopped.
