They're not headlines, you idiot. They're partisan political blog topics dressed up as editorials... in other words, not news.Jovial Monk wrote:Love the headline, brutally honest!

"But you will run your fluffy bunny mouth at me. And I will take it, to play poker."
Re: Poll Tracking
The intergenerational voting study, based on the AEC election study after each election, while still not ready for publication has been read by Possum. Fascinating, read allaboudit here:

Now, we know what the Coalition needs to do to be able to get back into office sometime. So if their present dogwhostling on boat people going to help or hinder them or is it just playing to their shrinking base?

Re: Poll Tracking
Morgans face to face poll, conducted on the weekends 3/4 and 10/11 (1600 all told, a good size sample) shows just minor movements well within MoE and Labor solid on 60:40.
Yeah, boring, been that way for 3 years. Only mention it as the poll was conducted with the Fibs playing the boat people/xenophobia card for all it was worth. Didn't have any effect at all. Bad luck Fibs, try developing policies and getting some renewal: failing that make Wilson Tuckey Leader, LOL.
Oh yeah, consumer confidence is at its highest in four years!

Made it it but this clunky old PC is playing up like billy-o. Can't wait for the new model.

Re: Poll Tracking
Good to see you here again Lefty.
The better I get to know people, the more I find myself loving dogs.
Re: Poll Tracking
Oh dear, the cretinous rump of Fib/Nuts supporters must be wailing and gnashing their teeth! All that lovely dog whistling on boat people and:
Somebody somewhere in Crikey mentioned Howard would have been much more subtle: he would have very quietly floated the idea that there might be Tigers among the Tamil refugees. That is how you do a dog whistle. However, dogwhistles are bloody hard to do from Opposition.
While the usual sheeple (Hi Deepshit!) were up in arms about a few boatpeople Australia has, thankfully, moved on from 2001.
The head of Newspoll said we wouldn't see those figures in a n election, that they would narrow in an election campaign. Maybe and not if Truffles is no longer Oppn Leader as the Coalition is broke and at the last election there was that worrying narrowing in the last few days as people decided better to stick to they devil they knew. Of course, Jacky Kelly's hubby & friends fucked that up, didn't they??? So this time there will be that last minute swing back to the incumbent, Labor. These figures have been substantially the same, given the usual 2-3% MoE for three years.
Edit:
Read on in Possum's blog (the blog MPs read!) Rudd has dropped 4 points in satisfied and similar rise in dissatified while Truffles dipped one point but got a big jump of dissatisfieds. Very unusual to see the party rise and the Leader drop. Maybe Rudd should talk less about the stupid "hardline" and more about the "humane" and same for Truffles and rein in the sisgusting Sharman Stone. Wonder how much that appeal by the 9yo Tamil girl is responsible for this on top of the changed attitude since 2001.
PS seeing those heavily armed SAS heading for the Tampa to overawe a bunch of women & children made me feel very ashamed of our country. Fucking heroes, NOT!
That was Possum: http://blogs.crikey.com.au/pollytics/20 ... r-malcolm/Newspoll Tuesday via The Oz rolls around again, this time with the primaries running 48 (up 1) / 34 (down 2) to Labor, washing out into a two party preferred of 59/41 the same way – a one point gain over last week’s special Newspoll.
