Why would you need a bun fight?
The libs have simply given up trying to fight for what is right and needs to be done and presented an ALP budget.
I started business relocation plans back in 2010 and have now relocated all capital, business and tax obligations for business to HK, barre a shell company for local trading and for "renting" the office/warehouse from the "totally unconnected HK company" who now own it after I sold it to different HK company
Business is tough lately.
Rent is expensive in Australia and locally, the company is barely making any profit.
We are only just keeping the doors open and our heads above water...although turnover is growing annually in the low double digit figures.
It's a good thing head office believes in the Australian market and is prepared to stick it out, even if we have to accept some on going support via long term intra-company loans.
Despite the difficult times, I can say the company is very supportive of my efforts and are very generous with the $ize of my quarterly and annual bonus's!
The only downside is I will have to spend more time in HK, but the company has leased a very nice apartment in West Kowloon so it feels more like home than hotel stays.
It's not fun to watch your home country that was once the strong seaworth vessel, the good ship Australia now limping along as the hull has hole after hole appear in the side. The worst part is the holes are being blown out from the inside.

dear IQ,
You've learnt all the tax tricks from the multinationals.
They deliberately run at a loss & borrow money from their overseas branch at stupid high interest rates.
That transfers the companies profits overseas.
Another well known trick is inter company price transfers.
Make little or no profit when selling in Australia - but make the profit in a low taxing country.
It's a pity that PAYE wage earners can't use such accounting tricks.

You could start your own business, put your own money on the line, take the risk, live without the guarantee of a weekly pay cheque, spend 80 hours a week at it, keep fastidious records and receipts of all your business expenses and you too can claim the costs of a doing business against your gross profit?
Then you could wait about 6-8 months maximum before you are broke and realise that you aren't smart enough to be in business because you think that as a PAYE employee, you think you the costs to earn your income is somehow comparable with a business owner.
You should go see your boss tomorrow and thank him for the work that he has to put in just to pay your tax for you.
His efforts have more than likely stopped you from being arrested for tax evasion and fraud.

IQ ,
I admit I couldn't run my own business.
Speaking to an accountant at the previous job I had -
he was juggling over 40 different taxes -
including payroll tax & land tax on property that the company "owned"
Add in rates & GST etc & it's all too complicated.
You need a masters degree in tax evasion to run a business now.

No, you need to understand that the left thinks that every cent you earn is actually just a rebate the govt is generous enough to give back to you.
As a worker and a citizen, your job is to make sure the govt gets every cent it is entitled to and not a penny more.
A good proactive accountant is a godsend but until you find one of those rare beasties, you should make sure nothing extra goes to them. Not only is it not theirs, they will never spend it as effectively or efficently as you will in boosting economic activity.
Familiarising yourself with every deduction and the documentation required empowers you to only hand back what the govt is entitled.
If you think its too complicated, then all you are doing is handing your entire paycheck to the govt and asking them how much will the give you back.

Only stupid because IQ should have said:
Both sides of politics thinks that every cent you earn is actually just a rebate the govt is generous enough to give back to you.
