No time to post anything but has anyone else noticed the "recovery" in most of the western world (barring Australia, Norway and a couple of other places) is looking precarious?

I am wondering Leftee. I think we are doing pretty well here in Australia but have doubts about the US situation. China and India seem to be doing ok. Partly due to our location and our trade partners we seem to be weathering the storm reasonably well, and rudd's stimulus ha sbeen widely recognised as being appropriate and well timed.

Yes RM, we have a number of advantages. One is that government (ironically) had "interfered" in the free market in financial products, rendering Australian banks unable to play in any major way in the casino of credit default swaps and collateralised debt obligations. So our banking sector did not run to the brink of collapse.
Our stimulus package was delivered in a more effective way than that of some other nations. And swiftly delivered (very important).
And then there was China, buying up our dirt in big quantities after having passed a massive stimulus package almost as big as the Australian economy.
