More Rudd Meltdowns?

Post by Black Orchid » Tue Apr 10, 2018 1:01 pm

Kevin Rudd has launched a blistering assessment of Julia Gillard and Labor's 2010 election campaign.

The former Labor Prime Minister, dumped for Ms Gillard before he re-took the leadership, said her campaign was the "worst-run in Labor history."

In a letter to the Australian Financial Review, Mr Rudd defended himself against accusations his undermining was a key reason for Labor's electoral woes.

"The Gillard Government collapsed in public support because neither Ms Gillard nor Treasurer Wayne Swan were able to provide any convincing explanation for the coup, other than personal ambition," a still bitter Rudd wrote.

"Second, Ms Gillard's 2010 election campaign was the worst in Labor history."

He pinpointed a "single thematic", the "real Julia Gillard which left the nation wondering who the previous Julia had been."

And, he said, she breached faith in her government when she promised "there will be no carbon tax under a government I lead".

He said she repudiated it, by forming a coalition with the Greens, and legislating a carbon tax.

"As a result, public support for her government collapsed throughout 2011, well before the caucus starting looking for an escape hatch."

The poison pen letter follows a withering Tweet from Mr Rudd yesterday, in which he lashed Opposition Leader, Bill Shorten, for being part of the coup that cut him down.

Each and every politician thinks they are better than their peers and each and every one is delusional.

Quote from the article in the OP:
And, he said, she breached faith in her government when she promised "there will be no carbon tax under a government I lead".

He said she repudiated it, by forming a coalition with the Greens, and legislating a carbon tax.
In other words, she's just your ordinary run of the mill lying politician without principles.

Why does Rudd remind me of the cabbie?

Someone, who shall not be named, thinks that the term "cabbie" means him.

All narcissists.

With the exception of a few gooduns.

Wish we still had these politicians on deck to stand for our people and nation, not themselves.

Rudd himself was narcissistic and self absorbed, the only real difference between Rudd and Gillard were their Genitals.

Gillards were bigger.

Can't say it was on my list and I wouldn't read it if it were only 6 pages.
