Libs will dump NBN

Post by Senexx » Mon Apr 26, 2010 1:07 pm

After both sides of politics unnecessarily sold off their revenue raiser in Telstra and one side saw sense and began the NBN, the other side plan to dump it
THE Coalition is likely to scrap the $43 billion national broadband network if it wins office later this year, a position one industry expert labelled a ''total disaster'' and the government said was a return to the Howard era.

Shadow communications spokesman Tony Smith yesterday said the opposition would instead seek to attract private investment to broadband to deliver improved speeds before the eight-year timeline outlined by the Rudd government.

This proves the Nationals suck for country people unless they stop this. Why Private Investors go where profit is and there is no profit in the country where everyone is spread out and economies of scale cannot be met. This is all ready happening with Telstra. It also proves that the Libs Coalition only govern for certain parts of Australia.

What do you think?

I think it needs to be scrapped. Liebor have proven they are incapable and incompetent of any type of project management.

If fibre was viable, it would have been rolled out by private companies already but they are smart enough to realise the future is in wireless. One set of infrastructure, easily upgradeable that services many rather than individual access points for everybody.

It will be a complete white elephant and waste of money but else do you expect from Liebor
