What's concerning is that this child's extended family tried to alert authorities prior to her death and were not taken seriously.

The girl is diabetic, and some of the world's smartest people are autistic, they just don't advertise it due to social ignorance.

Absolutely, however unfortunately, those with mental health problems and or intellectual disability tend to be more prone to being radicalised by either the left or right it seems.

People living with Autism think differently, not less. It's a neurological developmental difference, not so much a disorder.
My daughter has Autism and is both academically and artistically gifted & talented.

I don't generally like to use the term G&T, but she is, I have just made a point of not letting her know this.
Why?
Because my non- Autistic G&T son ( from first marriage) knew right from the start, attended G&T programs offered by the school, camps OC classes and selective school placements...he was even grade accelerated, skipped grade 1, but...

What did this achieve?

A painful adult whom fortunately has been blessed with a great career + beautiful and patient fiance ( been together 10 years) who is willing to put up with him.

I love him dearly, we have always been extremely close, ( talk daily, or every other if I get lucky) BUT sometimes I feel the urge saw off my own ears with a hacksaw whenever I have to endure him for extended periods of time. Ie, trip to Sydney recently, despite our staying with other family.

A man after Trumps own heart, both have egos larger than life itself.

This doesn't always workout too well for girls though, whereby modesty and humility are more acceptable attributes.

However, low IQ autistics or even just average ones generally suffer socially and occupationally, and are more prone to being radicalised I guess, for want of simply being accepted by someone, anyone!

There's a big difference between autistic and aspergers, though unfortunately the health community has decided to place them all into the same category in Australia for now , despite their high functioning.

Giving them levels instead. Levels aren't accurate though, because you can have a L1 with an average IQ or a L3 or 4 even with a profoundly high IQ, and to the contrary, L1 High IQ, L3 low.



Having worked in specialst education, I am pretty good at spotting them, even when they're not particularly good at spotting eachother or themselves.

I think you would be surprised to learn how many of our world's leaders are likely aspies, I think it would be easier simply listing those who weren't.


Hint: 98% of high functioning aspies go undiagnosed.

Why? Ignorance, Stigma, cost involved resources etc.
