Melbourne -
91 year old woman runs down pedestrians – one died so far.
https://www.9news.com.au/national/multi ... f0fa4d06c8
The woman who was behind the wheel of a car in Melbourne when it fatally struck a pedestrian and seriously injured two others, including a toddler, will not be interviewed today, 9News understands.
Police believe a 91-year-old female driver lost control of a Toyota Yaris on Coleman Road in Wantirna South about 12.20pm yesterday.
A 59-year-old woman died at the scene, a 60-year-old man was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries and a two-year-old boy was seriously injured.
AI Overview
In Victoria, drivers over 75 are required to renew their licenses every three years instead of the standard 10 years, but they are not mandated to undergo mandatory medical testing or driving tests based solely on age. However, drivers of all ages must report any medical conditions that could affect their ability to drive safely to VicRoads.

Even if they can still pass the tests at that age. Their reaction time in situations is about as fast as a Stoner's and as perceptive as a Drunk.

It went on for 250 metres -
It's believed the vehicle travelled out of control for about
50 metres before mounting a footpath and striking the adults,
both from Wantirna South, and the child, from behind.
The Toyota then continued down Coleman Road and flattened a street sign
before driving through a fence and coming to rest in a park
200 metres away.

When I did taxi. I was stationary in a congested shopping centre carpark (tourists) waiting to move on when bang! An elderly woman reversed out into me, hitting passenger side.
My advice to her obvious lack of hindsight was to tell her that the best way to park is to reverse in, because there is nothing behind you but the parking spot. She was in a disabled spot.
Taking down her details, she said her name was Black Orchid

Ummm?
The 91 year old lady has now killed 2 people.
They said on ABC 24 news that a medical episode is being investigated as the cause.

I don't think people should be driving in their 90s. I don't know what the solution is though. They have to be able to get around and we can't afford to give them all free taxis. *shrug*

Well they should be required to have mandatory eye, reflex, cognition and medical testing. I see some people getting into cars who can barely walk. How can they possibly operate the pedals effectively?

She should have had Morgan Freeman at the wheel.
