Iranian ambassador expelled over ‘credible intelligence’ Iran directed antisemitic attacks on Australian soil.
Iran directed at least two attacks against Australia’s Jewish community, the domestic spy agency has determined, prompting the Albanese government to expel Tehran’s ambassador to Canberra from Australia.
The prime minister announced on Tuesday that the Australian Security and Intelligence Organisation (Asio) had “credible intelligence” to determine the Iranian government was behind the attacks against the Adass Israel synagogue in Melbourne and Lewis’s Continental Kitchen in Bondi in Sydney.
The Asio director-general, Mike Burgess, said the attacks had been ordered by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), working through a “layer cake of cut-outs” – paid intermediaries acting in Australia.
The IRGC will be listed as a terrorist organisation, with new laws to be considered by federal parliament.

Re: Iranian Ambassador Expelled
That's exactly where this will end.
Why wasn't he charged with terrorism related offences?
Why was he able to board a plane back to Iran wearing a grin from ear to ear at the airport terminal?
I think there's more to this, and am wondering why ALP are happy to let this slide.
Seems even hostile nations terrorist organisations officials are above our laws, along with our own officials and untouchable demographics.
Laws for the ruling class are a lot different to those for the rest of society.

Lest we forget the Chinese national who threw scalding hot coffee over an Australian baby in a Queensland park.
This was a planned, calculated act of revenge intended to send our government a swift message over Visa applications expiring and being declined for multiple extensions.
His visa had already been extended at least twice already and he was found to be lying about his alleged rationale for being here.
China refuses to return him to Australia for justice, are now claiming they don't know where he is
China knows exactly where each and every one of their nationals are, even when they've moved to Australia.
So much being withheld from media scrutiny.

Downplaying, white-washing, or something far more sinister?

This government has nurtured a culture of blatant lawlessness with a view to benefiting themselves and passing new extreme legislation.
Their argument will be " Radical times call for radical change ( decisive action) ?????
It's ok to break the law in Australia, so long as your deeds suit ALPS agenda.
We all know that had they been at the other end of our political landscape, and were right-wing radicals, rather than left wing radicals, things would have been very different and the ABC would have been all over it.
Would have demonstrated, demanded justice and accountability.
Right & left wing groups need to stop taking the bait.
Labor needs useful idiots from both ends of the spectrum to meet their underlying agenda and justify imposing the UNiversal laws it's currently gearing up to pass without opposition. Re- the public scrutiny of all things government. EU has already started.
Soon we'll all require a Social media pen licence, bye bye VPNs, they'll be blocked
or the SM platform/site itself won't be accessible from Australia.
We'll have to agree to a manifesto of terms and conditions which will come with lucrative fines and like fishing or gold panning, you'll need to purchase them of course and there will be baggage limits, expiry dates, photo ID, bit like WWC checks, GST , processing fees, etc etc.
Imagine the revenue , particularly with outspoken Aussies
Monk will be utterly shattered, so will anyone else involved in creating content and thinking that they'll still be able to scrutinise our governments freely with any degree of autonomy whatsoever. Lol
The worst bit........... they'll slip it in via the back-door and we won't even feel it.
It will be formally announced once it's happened, and this will ultimately stand to benefit the entire political class, criminals, con-artists, ... dodgy companies, entrepreneurs, that will no longer fear negative unrestrained public reviews, criticism.
Because according to section 134 in clause ii) and v) Offensive speech will be determined by the individual who claims they've been offended by it, regardless of whether yours or anyone else's opinions are correct and or intended to help others and don't contain offensive language or even views at all.
Of course they will argue that a new government department needs to be created to monitor and moderate all online public content for our personal safety, develop software etc, so the fines will be justified.
This will create more off-shore jobs, protect government agencies, our media, ( Most importantly, politicians) and maintain "community " standards all in one, under the guise of wanting to take care of the Australian community. If this sounds a little too 1984 to you, just look around, it's already started.
They'll pay a marketing firm from Bangladesh to call it something innocuous , like "Webbicare" a hybrid government department, and there will be many products, types of licences you can purchase.
And of course, it will be linked with your Centrelink and Medicare customer numbers.
Eventually, they'll get their Australia card passed. It will have a chip and will be a universal portal to everything from buying groceries to checking your child into daycare and browsing the internet.

No way this will ever happen in a democratic freedom loving country like Australia, USA, EU etc?
Well 20 years ago, we never imagined killing humans, even accidentally with our cars would only set us back $1400 and a brief AI generated sorry note to the effected family, or any of the other crap that's seemingly OK by GOV these days, did we.
