An Aussie dad who has spent four and a half years in an Iraqi jail on “bogus charges” has spent his first 14 weeks of “freedom” homeless, severely emaciated and without medical attention, with no indication of when he will return to his homeland.

Robert Pether was “unrecognisable” after his late-night release from an Iraqi jail in June.

His bail conditions mean he is languishing in a foreign country alone, with no passport, no work visa, and threats of new charges hanging over his head.

His desperate family wants the Australian Government to intervene before it’s too late.
