Mr Marks said recent struggles at the BBC, which has lost two senior executives over what the British broadcaster accepted was a "mistaken" edit of a speech by US President Donald Trump, carried "lessons" for the ABC.

But he repeated his defence of the ABC's Four Corners for its own coverage of the same speech, saying criticism seeking to link the two was "opportunistic and false".

"The faults were not consistent on both programs. I didn't accept that was legitimate criticism," he said.

I'm at a loss beyond hoping some minister stands up and orders a Royal Commission or something to stop this corruption of the ABC.

the ABC covers his arse all the time.
It's a pity a wealthy person like Clive Palmer doesn't take them to court -
but maybe Trump will after he finishes with the BBC ? -
but those law suits can take years.

Basically it's a kind of fraud - taking our money under false pretences -
