Oh christ. That American style is awful, even for a uncooker like me. American cuisine is always dumbed down, cheapened, poor quality and designed for mass production and its people who swallow anything. If I can't cook it properly, then I eat out at friends or restaurants. That American hick thinks Ghoulash is Kenfucky Fried.

When I was in the USA I wasn't impressed with any of their food -
except at an expensive, good hotel I was staying at.
I know how to cook better than 90% of Yanky chefs.
Watch Gordon Ramsey and you'll find out how bad they are -
Kitchen Nightmares.

The French and Italians are the best chefs.

I had a pepper steak from Coles yesterday with some salad.
It was only $28.33 per kilo so I thought- wow -  what a bargain - here:

https://www.coles.com.au/product/coles- ... 0g-4678970?

I thought it might be tough like rump steak I've had before so I marinated one piece
in a small plastic round tub for 8 hours in the fridge.

My marinade was:
apple cider vinegar,
olive oil - only a tablespoon,
soy sauce - a splash.
Worcestershire sauce - a splash,
brown sugar - half a teaspoon

I fried each side on fairly high heat for about 4 minutes each
till it was still pink in the middle.
I was very disappointed in the result -
although still tasty and edible it was really tough.
gee wizz - I wonder how tough it would have been without marinating?
I still have another piece -
I will slow cook it in a curry for 90 minutes - that never fails.

Looks nice Bobby.
I picked up two packets of $35 Pepper Squid bites for $13.75 with just a week's use by left. They'll be gone in a week.
