Kylee Barbette Robinson, 52, is behind bars after being charged and refused bail over the alleged incident in Raymond Terrace, in the NSW Hunter region, on Sunday night.
Police allege Ms Robinson found a thief inside her shed and assaulted him with a bat before padlocking a chain around his neck and ordering him to help her retrieve her belongings.
The man led her to a homeless camp in nearby Boomerang Park where she allegedly bashed two other men and smashed a car windscreen while looking for stolen kayaks, resulting in police being called at 8.30pm.
Paramedics treated a man, 44, at the scene for facial injuries and bruising before he was taken to Maitland Hospital, and Ms Robinson was arrested the following evening after attending Raymond Terrace Police Station.
She was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, kidnapping with intent to cause actual bodily harm, and being armed with intent to commit an indictable offence, and refused bail on Tuesday.
Her partner, Guy Joel Westgate, 53, was arrested on Thursday and charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company and kidnapping with intent to commit an indictable offence, and was granted bail with strict conditions, The Newcastle News reported.
Police allege Mr Westgate was with Ms Robinson when she allegedly bashed the home invader and forced him to walk to the park in chains. Neither have entered a plea, and both will face court again in September.
