No it's a fake of Obama kissing China's President Hu Jintao, like the fake one of the Pope kissing Dr. Ahmed al Tayyeb, the grand sheikh of Cairo's Al Azhar Mosque.
The Vatican has filed a lawsuit now, by the way. Wondering if the White House will do the same.

It's a good fake.
Yes I heard about the Vatican on the news last night. I guess they don't want to give the impression that men kissing is just too gay and the church cannot handle the joke. Prudes really.

America invades a few dozen countries in its short history and China gets paranoid when troops are deployed in AUS ... maybe the American troops are facing south rather than north ...

Everyone must remember Kev's trip to see Obama.

Whatever happened to just shaking hands which is what politicians and leaders have always done. You kiss family and friends. Gillard is gauche. She should have had some lessons in etiquette by now.

Here's a few more! When did all this kissing become fashionable for Prime Ministers?
Wayne Swan gets a kiss
Here she is kissing New Zealand Prime Minister John Key
She even kisses footballers!
and female pollies
Here she is hugging the Korean President Lee Myung-bak
and Policemen!
and Timmy, of course.
This one makes me feel like throwing up!
Just as well she controlled herself when she met the Queen and Prince Philip.

It's embarrassing. I don't think kissing on both cheeks has been part of Aussie culture until recently, but Gillard is the only politician I've noticed being so demonstrative.
It's rude as it excludes everyone else and infers intimacy.

I remember the first time I had a business meetin in France and I was meeting a senior female manager. When we meet she launched her head to mind. I instintively reacted by pulling my head back, like dodging a headbutt.
She was quite offend until I explained I didn't know what she was doing. I explained I was Aussie and all way forgiven (I use this alot to explain ... things).
She explained how it goes. I kiss or touching checks with an air kiss on each check. I am seeing more and more over here in the UK.
I find it uncomfortable because I have grown up in the don't touch at work era in Aus.
I guess gGillard is trying to show she is up to date with internationally accepted protocols which we don't us in Aus.

Hillary does a lot of kissing. I now expect this sort of thing from our leadership, particular women.
I still find it uncomfortable... I now look out the the telltale signs of a headbutt in progress and override my instincts.
